Adrien Tambay eyeing Q4 slot at Hockenheim
Audi’s Adrien Tambay is aiming to turn his recent strong run of form into a Q4 slot at Hockenheim.
Despite failing to score in the opening six rounds of the 2013 DTM season, the Team Abt Audi driver hit form in Moscow and has managed to score in each of the last four races.
He is currently the fourth highest scorer in the series.
In the final free practice session of the 2013 DTM season at Hockenheim, Tambay finished second behind BMW’s Dirk Werner, and the Frenchman is aiming to turn his strong pace into his first Q4 slot of the year.
“I’ve been confident of Q4 in the last four races, but somehow I haven’t yet manage to do it,” Tambay told TouringCarTimes. “Now it’s a possibility, but the BMWs look very quick, and I don’t think Mercedes are fully showing what they can do.”
Tambay added his upturn in form is down to feeling more settled within the Abt Audi squad and the DTM in general.
“I’m more settled in the team now, I’m more settled in the DTM and I’m now starting to get properly used to it.
“I’m pretty happy with everything; with my team and my own team of engineers who I work together well with.
“We’re really getting to know each other and we’ve started to work more efficiently, so I think that’s the answer. It’s given me more confidence, and that’s probably the key.”
Tambay currently lies 12th in the championship on 30 points.
