Mattias Ekström given five-place grid drop

Double DTM champion Mattias Ekström has been issued a five-place grid penalty at the Norisring. 

The Swede originally qualified his Audi RS 5 DTM seventh, but will now start twelfth after the stewards deemed him to have blocked the hot lap of Pascal Wehrlein during qualifying.

As a result of the penalty given to Ekström, the BMW of Maxime Martin will start tomorrow’s race 10th.
