Marco Wittman tops first practice in Moscow
Series leader Marco Wittman set the pace by some distance in the first free practice session of the weekend at Moscow Raceway.
The 24-year-old lapped the circuit in a best time of 1:29.101 in his BMW M4 DTM, which was 0.454 faster than his nearest challenger, Audi’s Mattias Ekström.
Series rookie Nico Müller and Miguel Molina followed the Swede in third and fourth place respectively in their Audi RS 5s, with Maxime Martin completing the top five in his BMW.
Augusto Farfus, Mike Rockenfeller, Joey Hand, Pascal Wehrlein and Adrien Tambay rounded out the top 10, with Wehrlein the best of the Mercedes drivers.
Taking part in his home race, fellow Mercedes-Benz driver Vitaly Petrov was the second-best AMG C-Coupé driver in 15th.
