Jamie Green and Audi on another planet after Lausitzring
The second round of the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters is done and dusted, and the tone for the rest of the season is set with Audi Sport and Jamie Green dominating the standings.
The Briton accumulates three victories in four races, having been the fastest and strongest driver this year. Thus, Team Rosberg’s Green leads the Drivers’ table with 75 points, 17 more than his team mate at Audi Mattias Ekström, winner of the second race in Hockenheim. Edoardo Mortara is third with 58 points, tied with the Swede.
Pascal Wehrlein is, in fourth position, the best placed Mercedes driver with 32. Further down the list, Team RMG’s Maxime Martin is BMW’s top man, in eighth place with 16 points.
Jamie Green’s performance has pulled Audi Team Rosberg right to the top of the Teams’ standings, with Team Abt Sportsline in second place, albeit tied in points.
Gooix/Original-Teile Mercedes AMG, run by HWA AG, is the highest scoring team for the Stuttgart manufacturer in fourth place with 38 points. BMW Team RMG, in seventh with 28 points, is the best team for the Bavarian manufacturer.
The Manufacturers’ standings are a reflection of what we have seen on the track so far. Audi dominates and is far ahead of their rivals, with a total of 265 points, 174 more than Mercedes Benz in second place. BMW Motorsport is a distant third with just 48 points.
Next round of the DTM takes place at the Norisring, from the 26th to the 28th of June.
