Robert Wickens gets 13-place drop for Sunday’s grid

Mercedes AMG driver Robert Wickens has been handed a penalty for causing a collision at today’s race at Oschersleben, host of the seventh round of the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season.

The Canadian was found a guilty part in the multi-car collision that took place at Turn 1 right after the start, where he hit the competitors ahead of him, seriously damaging the nose of his C63 DTM, which would later translate into a retirement.

Wickens has been handed a 3-place drop for today’s collision. However, the Canadian also had a suspended 10-place drop, due to his repeated offences speeding in the pit lane in Moscow. The Stewards have decided that this penalty will now come into force tomorrow.

This will mean that the HWA AG driver will have a total drop of 13 places for tomorrow’s Race 2 grid.
