Tin Sritrai takes dominant pole position in Korea

Team Thailand’s Tin Sritrai put his Honda Civic TCR on pole position for the first round of the 2016 TCR Asia Series in South Korea at the Korea International Circuit, outpacing Teamwork Motorsport Volkswagen driver Kevin Tse by over a second, with Engstler’s Andy Yan completing the top three.

Sritrai topped every practice session ahead of qualifying, before topping Q1, putting him safely through to Q2 where the Thai driver produced a time of 2:21.137 which was enough to ensure first on the grid for tomorrow’s first race.

The next-best placed Honda was that of Henry Ho in fourth, 1.9 seconds behind, with the fastest SEAT that of Roelof Choe in fifth for Viper Niza Racing.

For the reversed grid Race 2, Roadstar Racing SEAT driver Terence Tse will start from pole ahead of Engstler’s Filipe de Souza.

Race 1 takes place at 12:45 Korean time (5:45 CET).
