Audi Sport gains weight for Lausitzring Race 1
The qualifying session for Race 1 has already taken place this morning at the Lausitzring, host of the third round of the 2016 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season, with Audi driver Miguel Molina taking pole position with a time of 1:16.619.
The Spaniard also clocked the best ideal lap for Audi Sport, with a time of 1:16.468. Lucas Auer set the best ideal lap for Mercedes AMG, with a theoretical register of 1:16.602, whilst Marco Wittmann was the best ideal man for BMW Motorsport, with a lap of 1:16.751.
These results place Mercedes between 0.1% and 0.2% of Audi Sport, with BMW Motorsport over 0.2%. Thus, the Audi RS 5 DTMs will put on five kilos for race 1, with a new base weight of 1,125 kg, with the Mercedes C63 DTMs staying the same at 1,110 kg. The eight BMW M4 DTMs on track will lose five kilos, resulting on a new base weight of 1,117.5 kg.
The start of Race 1 is scheduled for 15:28 CEST.
