BMW and Mercedes-Benz get maximum weight added for Race 1

BMW and Mercedes-Benz have accumulated the most in the performance weights calculation after qualifying, both being given an additional 5kg of ballast for today’s race, while Audi have been allowed to remove 5kg from their RS 5 DTM.

The best sectors from the three manufacturers cars after qualifying were used to determine the performance weights, with Marco Wittmann having set the best ideal lap for BMW and Jamie Green for Audi. Although Robert Wickens set the pole time, it was Christian Vietoris’s ideal lap which was used for Mercedes’ calculation, which was just 0.061 slower than Wittmann’s.
