BMW and Audi put on weight for Race 1

The performance weights for Race 1 have been calculated after the qualifying session held at Hockenheim, with Audi and BMW gaining 5kg each.

António Félix Da Costa’s pole lap was also the best ideal lap for BMW Motorsport, with a time of 1:32.344, with Miguel Molina being the best man for Audi Sport with 1:32.433. Paul Di Resta set the best ideal lap for Mercedes AMG, with a time of 1:32.784.

With these results, Audi Sport’s ideal lap was within the 0.1% of BMW Motorsport’s, with Mercedes AMG’s being over the 0.2%. As a result, the M4 DTMs and RS 5 DTMs will gain 5kg for Race 1, with a new base weight of 1,117.5 and 1,125kg respectively.

The C63 DTMs will lose 5kg, with a new base weight of 1,120kg.
