No weight change following close qualifying at Lausitzring

The qualifying for Race 2 at the Lausitzring this morning was one of the closest in recent times, with the top nine drivers separated by just 0.161 seconds, with minimal differences between the drivers.

The best ideal lap was set by BMW Motorsport driver Tom Blomqvist, 1:16.252. Both Robert Wickens and Gary Paffett, partnered within Team HWA, set the exact same best ideal lap for Mercedes AMG, 1:16.256. René Rast was the best driver for Audi Sport, with a lap of 1:16.270.

Both Mercedes AMG and Audi Sport are below the 0.1% mark set by BMW Motorsport, which means that there are no variations to the cars’ weights, remaining the same as yesterday.

Manufacturer – Car – Base weight – Variation – Performance weight

Mercedes AMG – C63 DTM – 1,125 – +5kg + 1,130kg
Audi – RS 5 DTM – 1,120 – -5kg + 1,115kg
BMW – M4 DTM – 1,125 – -5kg + 1,120kg
