Performance weights remain unchanged due to the rain

The performance weights will not be changed after the first race of the weekend at Norisring since at least one car from each manufacturer had to use wet tyres during the race.

The DTM organisers changed the calculation of performance weights for Hungaroring since it had become clear that race performance was more indicative of cars’ real speed than qualifying, with the weights being recalculated after each race.

Drivers started this afternoon’s Race 1 at Norisring on wet tyres due to the rain that fell on the track before the race, with the circuit drying during the race and cars switching to slicks. Still, the officials have decided that, because of the use of wet tyres by all manufacturers, the performance weights should not be recalculated for tomorrow.
