Jamie Green and Audi dominate final free practice at Moscow Raceway

Jamie Green led a four-car strong Audi pack at Moscow Raceway, in an uneventful third practice session to prepare for this morning’s qualifying.

The Briton from Team Rosberg set a fastest lap time of 1:27.661, just three-thousandths ahead of Mattias Ekström. René Rast was third, with Loïc Duval in fourth position, over a tenth off the pace.

BMW driver Augusto Farfus was the only one able to break Audi’s dominance in fifth, almost four-tenths off Green’s time. The Audis of Nico Müller and Mike Rockenfeller followed in sixth and seventh. The 2013 champion experienced problems with his DRS system, with the rear wing locking into the opened position, which hampered his progress during the session.

The Mercedes AMGs of Paul Di Resta and Lucas Auer followed, with BMW’s Maxime Martin completing the top ten, eight-tenths off the pace.

The third practice session was trouble-free, although many drivers had off-track excursions at Turn 2 without major consequences. Qualifying for Race 2 is scheduled for 11:30 MSK, 10:30 CET.
