Audi gain weight again after strong pace in Zandvoort Race 2

Audi Sport has again been hit with the maximum performance weight penalty after their competitive pace in today’s second race at Zandvoort.

The average calculated lap for the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer was 1:30.533, with Mercedes AMG the second fastest with an average of 1:31.552, 1.075 seconds slower than their rivals. BMW Motorsport had the slowest average on track, with a time of 1:31.942, 1.317 seconds from Audi’s time.

The results mean that, under the performance weight regulations, the Audi RS 5 DTMs will gain five kilograms, with a new weight of 1,132.5kg, just 7.5kg off the maximum weight allowed in the regulations, with both the Mercedes C63 DTMs and the BMW M4 DTMs losing five kg, with new weights of 1,122.5kg and 1,107.5kg respectively for the next round at the Nürburgring on September 9th.
