Edoardo Mortara penalised for blocking Jamie Green

Mercedes AMG driver Edoardo Mortara has been given a five-place grid drop for the next race for blocking Audi driver Jamie Green in qualifying at Zandvoort.

The Italian had been determined to have blocked the British driver ten minutes into the session, the first of two blocking incidents for which Mortara is being investigated.

Mortara’s qualified in 17th place for today’s race. Fellow Mercedes driver Gary Paffett will start behind as he’s been excluded due to a tyre allocation error.

Mortara is still under investigation for a separate incident with BMW’s Timo Glock.
