Timo Glock receives warning after incident with Nico Müller

BMW Motorsport driver Timo Glock received a warning after the second DTM race at the Nürburgring for an incident in which he hit the back of Nico Müller’s Audi, leading to the Swiss’ retirement.

The pair were fighting for sixth place, with Glock having completed his obligatory pit stop, with Müller still pending on his. On lap 26, both came together in the braking zone toward the chicane, with Glock hitting the back of the Audi and complaining via radio about being brake-tested by the Swiss.

A lap later, at the same point, Glock actually hit the back of the Audi, causing damage that led to Müller receiving a black-and-orange flag, leading to his retirement two laps later.

“It seemed to me that Nico Müller braked too early before the chicane. I was not able to react in time and drove into his rear end. That really damaged the front of my car and I was lucky to be able to finish the race and score a few points,” said Glock, who finished eighth.

The stewards found Glock responsible for the collision, handing the BMW driver a warning.

BMW driver Maxime Martin was also investigated for a last lap incident with the Mercedes C63 of Gary Paffett at the chicane, but the contact was ruled a racing incident.
