Jean-Karl Vernay tops TCR Asia-China Qualifying 1 at Zhejiang

Teamwork Motorsport driver Jean-Karl Vernay was fastest of all in the first qualifying session for TCR Asia-China at the Zhejiang circuit, with the Frenchman three-tenths of a second faster than Kantadhee Kusiri’s Engstler Volkswagen.

Vernay, racing in the TCR China class with weekend with Alex Hui, took pole in Qualifying 1, with Kusiri second fastest in the Engstler Volkswagen, effectively fastest of the TCR Asia competitors, with Tin Sritrai the best-placed Honda in third.

Engstler’s Diego Moran was fourth, with Andy Yan the second-best placed of the TCR China racers in fifth in his NewFaster Audi RS 3 LMS.

Qualifying 2, which sets the grid for the second race, takes place at 10:50 CST (04:50 CET). Race 1 is scheduled for 14:25 CST.
