Kantadhee Kusiri secures pole for TCR Asia-China Race 2 at Zhejiang

TCR Asia championship leader Kantadhee Kusiri has taken pole position for the final round of the championship at the Zhejiang circuit in China, outqualifying Team Thailand’s Tin Sritrai by a quarter of a second.

The Volkswagen driver led the session throughout, with the Thai driver’s best time a 1:34.861, 0.241 seconds clear of chief rival Sritrai’s Honda Civic.

Sritrai will start the second race in a Engstler Motorsport sandwich, with Ecuador’s Diego Moran third on the grid in his Volkswagen Golf, while Andy Yan will line up fourth in his NewFaster Audi RS 3, the best-placed of the TCR China class drivers, just ahead of team-mate Huang Chu Han.

Lai Wee Sing, still in contention for the championship, qualified down in 12th in the R Engineering Honda Civic, 2.5 seconds off the pace.

Race 2 is scheduled for 16:30 CST (10:30 CET).
