Augusto Farfus tops afternoon session of day three at Hockenheim

Augusto Farfus led a 1-2-3 result for BMW Motorsport in today’s afternoon session at Hockenheim, the third day of four, with teams and drivers again focussing on long runs and race simulations.

The Brazilian completed 95 laps to set a fastest lap time of 1:32.675, ahead of fellow BMW drivers Bruno Spengler and Marco Wittmann, two-tenths off the pace.

Mercedes AMG’s Lucas Auder was fourth fastest, followed by Audi drivers Jamie Green and Mike Rockenfeller, half a second behind Farfus.

Pascal Wehrlein was seventh for Mercedes, with Audi’s Nico Müller next. Paul Di Resta took over in the afternoon from Daniel Juncadella to complete 80 laps, eight-tenths off the pace.

Tomorrow is the final day of the official pre-season testing at Hockenheim, with Robin Frijns, Nico Müller and Loïc Duval on duty for Audi. Timo Glock, Philipp Eng and Joel Eriksson will get behind the wheel for BMW, with Pascal Wehrlein, Lucas Auer and Paul Di Resta driving for Mercedes.
