Paul di Resta and Daniel Juncadella fined for drinking water after the race

Mercedes AMG drivers Paul di Resta and Daniel Juncadella have been fined for infringing the parc fermé protocol following the second DTM race of the weekend at the Lausitzring.

Temperatures were higher than yesterday on the German track, peaking at 26ºC at the time of the race. Both Mercedes drivers were found to have been drinking water after getting out of their cars prior to proceeding to the compulsory after-race weighing, violating the parc fermé procedure.

However, after finding that their weights were significantly higher than the minimum requirement, the stewards chose to fine both drivers with 3,000€ each, meaning that they keep their race results, fourth place for di Resta and 12th for Juncadella.

The stewards also investigated the possible unsafe release of di Resta in front of Audi’s Nico Müller during their compulsory pit stops, but taking no further action on the incident.
