Edoardo Mortara climbs to P1 in second Norisring practice

The top two of the second practice session at the Norisring was the same as yesterday’s first session but with Edoardo Mortara climbing one spot to first ahead of Mercedes colleague Paul di Resta in second.

Only 0.084 seconds separated the top two in the session that was held in dry conditions compared to yesterday’s mixed conditions.

Mercedes claimed the top three positions with Lucas Auer, who was seventh yesterday, in third position, one tenth from the top spot.

BMW claimed positions four to seven with championship leader Timo Glock in fourth, Marco Wittmann in fifth, Philipp Eng in sixth and Augusto Farfus Jr. in seventh.

Nico Müller was fastest of the Audi drivers in eighth and manufacturer colleague René Rast in ninth. BMW Team RBM driver Bruno Spengler rounded off the top ten.

Qualifying is next up for the DTM drivers, starting at 10:20 CEST.
