Alex Morgan returns for Donington Park finale

Alex Morgan has confirmed that he will return to the TCR UK championship for the season finale at Donington Park this weekend at the wheel of a Vukovic Motorsport Renault Mégane.

Morgan competed at Brands Hatch back in June as part of the ongoing development programme for the Mégane, and will now return to action in the series after a number of improved performances in TCR Germany – where Morgan has been racing across the season.

The Donington Park outing is being viewed as the next stage of the test programme for the car, with Morgan eager to see the progress that has been made since the last TCR UK outing.

“It’s been fantastic to be a part of developing a car like the Mégane TCR and to watch it evolve over the months,” he said. “We’ve chopped and changed a little in terms of the championships we’ve entered, but thanks to an intensive few months of work we’ve seen lap times come down from being three seconds a lap off the pace at Oschersleben to just 0.6 seconds a lap in Q1 at the Sachsenring.

“We’ve known for a long time that the pace was there and so it’ll be good to hopefully show that at Donington this weekend. I know the circuit and I’ve gone well there in the past and so a good result is more than possible. It’ll be a great way of showing what the car and the team are capable of and confirm that what we’ve been doing this year has paid off.”
