Pietro Fittipaldi confirmed as second WRT driver in the DTM

Audi Sport has confirmed that Pietro Fittipaldi will be the second driver for WRT’s customer programme in the DTM after the Brazilian took part in the official tests at the Lausitzring this week.

The 22-year-old, grandson of two-time Formula One champion Emerson will partner fellow series rookie Jonathan Aberdein and will carry number 21 on his car.

“Vincent Vosse (WRT team director) has formed a kind of junior team, which perfectly fits to our idea of a DTM customer team,” Audi Motorsport boss Dieter Gass said.

“I am glad we could give WRT a hand in signing Pietro as their second driver for the DTM season opener.”

The 2019 DTM season kicks off at Hockenheim on the weekend of 3-5 May.
