21-car grid for the third round of TCR Asia-China at Shanghai

21 cars will race this weekend for the third round of the 2019 TCR Asia International Series, held jointly with the TCR China Touring Car Championship, with Luca Engstler the reference point for the chasing pack as the field hits a record high.

Engstler has won three of the first four races of the season, and enjoys a nine-point lead in the standings over his Engstler Motorsport team-mate Diego Moran, with both drivers competing in Hyundai i30 N TCRs.

The 19-year-old German has already thrown down the gauntlet in practice, topping the second practice by just over a second clear of Teamwork Motorsport’s Sunny Wong, in an Audi RS 3 LMS.

An expanded grid sees a number of new entries in the China championship this weekend, which is being led by British driver Dan Lloyd, who is back on track in the Dongfeng Honda MacPro Racing Civic TC

Qualifying and Race 1 take place on Saturday, with Race 2 on Sunday, with the series supporting the second round of the 2019 China Touring Car Championship.
