BMW hit engine trouble at Brands Hatch

BMW Motorsport has encountered engine issues during the DTM weekend at Brands Hatch, meaning that they are ineligible to score manufacturers’ points for the first race.

BMW has requested to the series’ technical delegate that the seal for three additional engines will be opened for this afternoon’s race.

The main consequence, according to article 28.5 of the regulations, is that the results from the top three classified BMW drivers in Saturday’s race will not be classified for the manufacturers’ championship.

Both the drivers’ and teams’ classifications are unaffected by this decision.
