DTM extends long-standing partnership with DEKRA

The DTM has extended its partnership with DEKRA into a 31st year, keeping the company onboard as one of the series’ major sponsors and responsible for scrutineering.

The partnership between the two stretches back 30 years and is already one of the longest partnerships in motorsport. The extension was announced on Sunday morning, prior to the 500th DTM race at the Lausitzring.

DEKRA works with the German motorsport authority DMSB to ensure teams follow regulations, while also working to ensure safety for all those involved in DTM.

“We’re absolutely delighted that we will be able to rely on the continued technical expertise of our long-standing partner DEKRA,” said ITR chairman Gerhard Berger.

“Our long and intense relationship of trust is extraordinary in the motorsport world.”

The majority of DEKRA’s staff involved in DTM work at the DEKRA Technology Center Lausitzring, examining driving dynamics, exhaust emissions and other factors.

“We’re proud to made a relevant contribution to safety in the DTM for more than 30 years,” added DEKRA board member Clemens Klinke.

“In that time, our colleagues have done some outstanding work, and are acknowledged and appreciated by organisers and teams up and down the pit lane.

“We are very happy to be able to continue this long-standing, proven partnership.”
