Nico Müller tops afternoon session at the Nürburgring

Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Nico Müller set the fastest lap time during Wednesday’s afternoon session at the Nürburgring on the third day of official DTM preseason tests.

The Swiss driver set a best lap time of 1:19.431 followed by Team Rosberg’s Jamie Green with a best time 0.039 seconds behind.

Jonathan Aberdein, who switches to BMW Motorsport for the 2020 season, completed his first day of testing with the M4 DTM with a solid third place, three-tenths off the pace.

Robert Kubica was next with the M4 DTM from Art Grand Prix, nine-tenths behind Müller, with Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver Mike Rockenfeller in fifth position, 1.2 seconds off the pace.

Sheldon van der Linde was sixth for BMW, albeit two seconds behind Müller, with WRT’s Ferdinand Habsburg a further tenth behind in seventh place.

Timo Glock completed the timesheets in eighth position for BMW, 2.3 seconds off the pace, in his first day of testing.

The fourth and final day of testing starts on Thursday at 8:30 CEST.
