Fredrik Blomstedt forced to leave Brink Motorsport

Fredrik Blomstedt has been forced to leave Brink Motorsport prior to the 2020 STCC TCR Scandinavia season start following financial difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We really looked forward to welcome Fredrik to the team, it is a driver we firmly believe in and we think he has the potential to fight for the title,” said team manager Ted Brink.

“Unfortunately this will not be possible and we are of course sad over this.”

Blomstedt last raced for Kristoffersson Motorsport in the 2017 STCC season, finishing third overall, and was supposed to make his comeback this year.

The team is going to bring three cars to the official pre-season test at Gelleråsen Arena later this week, stating that it might have a new driver on site.

“We have worked for a short period of time to find a replacement,” said Ted Brink.

Hannes Morin and Tobias Brink are previously confirmed for a full season with the team.

“We have already now taken the decision to put more efforts on our junior, Hannes Morin, who produced some promising results last year and we will do our best to enable his breakthrough,” said Ted Brink.
