Nico Müller fastest again in second practice at the Lausitzring

Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Nico Müller continued on top in the second free practice of the DTM weekend at the Lausitzring.

The first practice session saw teams primarily running race simulation runs, something that was replaced by qualifying preparations, with lap times dropping quickly dropping in the second session.

Müller dominated a largely trouble-free practice session with a time of 1:15.831, followed by fellow Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller, just 0.043 seconds behind, with BMW Team RMG’s Marco Wittmann in third, two-tenths off the pace.

Philipp Eng was fourth for BMW Motorsport, with Audi drivers Jamie Green (Team Rosberg) and Ferdinand Habsburg (WRT) next. Eng’s team-mate at RBM Sheldon van der Linde was seventh, 0.372 seconds off the pace.

Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Robin Frijns was eighth, four-tenths off the pace, with reigning champion René Rast in ninth. Team Phoenix’s Loïc Duval completed the top ten, six-tenths off the pace.

The track activities continues on Saturday morning at 10:45 CEST.
