Robin Frijns leads continued Audi dominance in second free practice at Assen
Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Robin Frijns set the fastest lap time of the second free DTM practice session at Assen ahead of team-mate Nico Müller, leading another 1-2-3-4 for Audi.
The season got underway on a dry track, with a slight risk of rain forecasted for Saturday, as the drivers quickly imrpoved on the FP1 lap times.
The BMW drivers headed the time sheets at first, but soon the Audis took command. Frijns set the fastest time of the session with 1:31.263, ahead of Müller who was two-tenths behind in fourth.
Duval was third, three-tenths off the pace, with Team Rosberg’s René Rast a further four-tenths behind.
Philipp Eng was the fastest BMW driver for Team RBM in fifth position, with fellow BMW driver Lucas Auer next, a second from the top time.
Team RMG’s Timo Glock finished seventh, with ART Grand Prix’s Robert Kubica next, 1.2 seconds behind Frijns. Team RBM driver Sheldon van der Linde and Team RMG driver Marco Wittmann completed the top ten.
Next up is the qualifying session for Race 1, starting at 10:40 CEST tomorrow.
