Hannes Morin confirmed for STCC and military duty
Hannes Morin is going to combine military duty and his STCC TCR Scandinavia programme with Brink Motorsport this year. And the 18-year-old might miss some of the races due to clashing military activities.
“I’m not sure how many active militaries the STCC has had before, but I am very much looking forward to doing both this year,” said Morin.
“Unfortunately I don’t know yet whether I will be able to do all races this year as I might have to head out in the field during the summer. But I will nonetheless go for the top three in all races that I can take part in.”
Morin, who claimed the junior title last year and finished fourth overall, might miss the races at Gelleråsen Arena.
“We see a lot of potential in Hannes, he took a big step forward with us last year,” said Ted Brink, team manager of Brink Motorsport.
“It remains to be seen whether he can take part in all races, but we are going to do everything in our power to give him the right conditions with his team-mate Tobias Brink to fight for the gold medal in both the junior and overall championship.”
Morin was fastest in the final pre-season test day at Ljungbyhed Arena earlier this month.
