Geely Group Motorsport introduces development driver programme for Asia

Geely Group Motorsport today announced the “Geely Group Motorsport Development Driver Program” which is designed to assist junior drivers in Asia.

“We have launched this program to create a viable opportunity for young talents in Asia to take their step into professional motorsport,” Chen Jun, Commercial Director of Geely Group Motorsport in China.

“We have seen drivers like Ma Qing Hua and Zhang Zhi Qiang claim impressive results with the customer teams of Geely Group Motorsport and with this program we are creating the conditions for a new generation of talented Asian drivers.”

Reigning TCR Asia champions Teamwork Motorsport with drivers Ma Qing Hua and Jason Zhang are part of the programme and the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car will be utilised, along with other models of the Geely Holding group.

The programme is open to drivers between ages 20-35 that reside in China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan and two winners will be selected for a yet to be confirmed Asian touring car series in 2023.
