Tobias Brink bounces back in close second practice at Ljungbyhed

Tobias Brink bounced back in the second practice session of the STCC TCR Scandinavia opener at Ljungbyhed, beating title rival Robert Dahlgren by just 0.064 seconds.

PWR Racing driver Dahlgren topped the session for the first part, with Brink setting his lap time towards the end of the session.

Hugo Nerman made it, just as in the first session, two Brink Motorsport drivers in the top three, 0.110 seconds from his team-mate.

The Lestrup Racing Team duo of Oliver Söderström and Andreas Bäckman occupied positions four and five, as Exion Racing driver Isac Aronsson showed impressive form by setting the sixth fastest time.

Aronsson’s team-mate Calle Bergman suffered a gearbox issue and had to park his Audi at the exit of the final corner with around ten minutes left of the session.

Mattias Andersson of MA:GP was seventh fastest, half a second from the top time, with Norwegian junior driver Marius Solberg Hansen rounding off the top eight, 0.563 seconds from Brink.

The combined results from the two practice sessions means that Dahlgren will start last ahead of Brink, Nerman, Söderström and Bäckman.

Next up for the STCC field is the one-lap shoot out qualifying session, starting at 11:00 CEST.
