Robert Dahlgren says exclusion “does not affect” his strategy for season end

Robert Dahlgren saw his STCC TCR Scandinavia points lead cut in almost half following a delayed exclusion from a race earlier this season. But the Cupra driver says it does not affect his strategy ahead of the final two race weekends.

“The change in points does not matter for me in terms of strategy,” said Dahlgren.

“We have historically been strong at Anderstorp and we are aiming for the pole and victories, that’s the easiest way to handle the situation.”

Dahlgren was excluded from the first Skellefteå race for failing the post-race ride height check following a protest by Lestrup Racing Team.

The exclusion, which has been appealed by his team PWR Racing, has seen his points lead shrink from 47 to 27 points ahead of the final two race weekends.

And the PWR Racing driver is expecting a tough season end.

“I expect tougher action in the final two race weekends,” said Dahlgren.

“It’s going to be really hard and no one is going to give anything for free.”

Dahlgren heads a trio of drivers sharing second place in the form of Mattias Andersson, Oliver Söderström and Tobias Brink, with Andreas Bäckman in fifth, a single further point adrift.
