Andy Wilmot to honour Dan Kirby at Brands Hatch finale

Andy Wilmot has confirmed that he will return to the TCR UK Championship for the season finale at Brands Hatch to pay tribute to the late Dan Kirby.

Wilmot worked alongside Kirby for a number of years, including when the pair helped to spearhead the Trade Price Cars Racing entry into the BTCC.

The duo also competed together on track in TCR UK, with Wilmot now confirming that he will race at Brands Hatch in the Cupra Leon Competición that Kirby himself drove in the opening two meetings of the year.

The Cupra will run a special livery to honour Kirby, who died last month, and will feature both his name and number.

“It’s been a difficult time for me, having lost a friend, business partner and team-mate in such a cruel way and I want to take the chance to remember Dan in the best way I can,” he said.

“Racing with his number and with a tribute livery on the car that he originally raced earlier in the season, means that I can give him the send-off that I feel he would have wanted.

“I am so thankful for the support that I have been given in getting back on the grid for the season finale, it means so much that so many sponsors and partners have been involved in making this happen.”
