Aiden Moffat takes second Speedworks satellite seat

Aiden Moffat will partner Josh Cook in the second Speedworks Toyota being entered under LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ banner for the 2024 BTCC season.

The deal will see the pair continue to run as team-mates for a second successive season, albeit with a new team after both switched from One Motorsport.

The Scot was widely expected to make the move, most notably when the sponsors for the programme were confirmed, and the 27-year-old duly becomes the third member of the line-up confirmed alongside Toyota Gazoo Racing UK entrant Andrew Watson.

“I’m really excited to join Speedworks and LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ in the Toyota Corolla while continuing to race alongside Josh,” he said. “The car looked very strong in so many areas last year, and seeing where the team is already working to improve – with a solid pre-season testing plan in-place – fills me with a lot of confidence that I can get back to fighting at the front.

“A massive thank you to all my loyal sponsors and everybody involved in making this deal happen, and of course all of the Speedworks team for their belief in me. It’s great to have the buzz back heading into this season. Let’s get going!”

Team boss Christian Dick admitted he was pleased to keep Cook and Moffat together for the new season.

“Aiden is an established race-winner in the BTCC and arrives with a rare blend of youth and experience – there are not many 27-year-olds with ten full seasons under their belt!” he said. “He is a fast and uncompromising racer who I have no doubt will get the very best out of the Toyota Corolla.

“His prior relationship with Josh is also clearly a benefit. We know how well they work together, and between them, they tick every box for what it takes to be successful in the series. It promises to be a fantastic season ahead for LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ. We can’t wait to go racing!”
