FIA TCR World Tour introduces unique Balance of Performance system
The FIA TCR World Tour will get its own Balance of Performance system for the 2026 season which is calculated primarily on the performance of the cars in the series.
All other TCR championships (excluding endurance) around the globe runs according to one BoP system where the combined performance of the models in respective championships are calculated together.
There are six different TCR models racing in the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour, including the Audi RS 3 LMS, the Cupra León VZ TCR, the new Geely Preface TCR, the Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR and the two Hyundai Elantra models; the original Elantra N TCR model and the newer Elantra N EV TCR.
Four of the models have so far received BoP parameters which are unique to the FIA TCR World Tour.
The Audi, Honda and Cupra will run 10kg lighter for minimum weights of 1255kg, 1255kg and 1245kg respectively.
The Elantra N TCR, which will be driven by all Hyundai drivers bar Norbert Michelisz and Mikel Azcona, will run 20kg lighter for a minimum weight of 1265kg.
The FIA TCR World Tour starts this weekend at Misano in Italy with 19 cars entered for the race.
