Javier Villa fastest in morning warm-up
Proteam Racing driver Javier Villa led the morning warm-up at Zolder ahead of four Chevrolets in his BMW 320 TC. The Spanish driver missed qualifying with engine problems and will start last for both of today’s races.
The 23-year-old Spaniard’s warm-up lap of 1:38.589 would have been good enough for second place on the grid if he’d have set that time yesterday.
Alain Menu was second fastest in the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T, three-tenths of a second down on the BMW, leading his two RML team-mates with Darryl O’Young’s Bamboo Engineering Cruze in fifth place.
Tiago Monteiro was fastest of the SEAT’s in ninth place, 1.2s down on Villa, with team-mate Michel Nykjaer the fastest Jay-Ten competitor in tenth.
The first race will take place at 12:20 CET.
