Huff quickest in final practice as Michelisz closes

Rob Huff topped the timesheets in the final practice session of the weekend for Chevrolet, whilst independent driver Norbert Michelisz found new pace in the BMW 320 TC to go second fastest.

British-driver Huff’s best time of 1:06.360, although over half a second slower than his time in the morning session was the fastest of all in the second free practice session at the Shanghai Tianma circuit.

Alain Menu was third quickest in the No.8 Chevrolet Cruze, with Volvo’s Robert Dahlgren further splitting up the three Chevrolets in fourth, with Yvan Muller ending up fifth.

Tom Coronel was the second fastest of the BMWs in sixth overall, with Colin Turkington just behind the Dutch driver and the second quickest of the independent drivers.

Aleksei Dudukalo put in a stunning lap of 1:06.898 with just under five minutes to go to put one of the SUNRED cars in the top ten for the first time this weekend. The next closest SR León was that of 2009 Champion Gabriele Tarquini in 11th place.

Swiss-driver Fredy Barth was 20th in the session, but will drop five places after qualifying as the SUNRED team have been forced to change the engine in his León.

The next session is qualifying which takes place at 15:15 local time (8:15 CET).
