Gabriele Tarquini leaves hospital as Honda cancel test
Gabriele Tarquini has been released from hospital whilst the Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team have cancelled their planned two day test at the Hungaroring.
Tarquini had remained in hospital overnight for observation after complaining of pain in his neck after his high-speed crash in the second race in Hungary. A message from Tarquini released through the Honda team said:
“Eventually the hospital let me go! Thank you all for your concern, I’m in pain but still in one piece.”
Meanwhile the team have cancelled a two-day test at the Hungarian circuit allowing the Italian time to recover from his injuries, coupled with the major damage to Tarquini’s Honda Civic.
The team will now prepare for the next race at the Salzburgring in two weeks’ time.
