Three drivers reprimanded in Austria

Tom Chilton, Tiago Monteiro and Charles Ng have all been reprimanded by the stewards for incidents in the first race at the Salzburgring.

Though nothing of the scale of the penalties seen yesterday in qualifying, the stewards handed out a number of reprimands for incidents and behaviour which all took place in the first race.

Honda driver Tiago Monteiro was given a warning for “dangerous behaviour during the grid formation for race one”, whilst RML’s Tom Chilton was penalised for contact with Münnich Motorsport’s Rob Huff.

Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Charles Ng was also given a reprimand for his coming together with team-mate Franz Engstler on the penultimate lap. The spinning car of Engstler was also collected by ROAL Motorsport’s Darryl O’Young, which ended the Hong Kong driver’s weekend as his car was not repairable for race two.

If a driver receives three reprimands during the course of the season, they are immediately served with a ten place grid drop at the following race.
