Pasquale Di Sabatino returns to WTCC with Team Engstler

Pasquale Di Sabatino has signed for Liqui Moly Team Engstler to drive a BMW 320 TC in the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship.
“Coming back to WTCC is a dream come true. I’m very pleased to race alongside an experienced driver like Franz Engstler, I can learn a lot from him,” said Di Sabatino.

The Italian is going to drive alongside team owner Franz Engstler in the TC2 class and makes his return to the championship after last racing half season of the 2012 WTCC with a Chevrolet Cruze for bamboo-engineering.
”Now I have to get used again to race after a two-year break that lasted since the 2012 WTCC event in Portimão,” Di Sabatino commented.

The 26-year-old becomes the fourth driver named in the TC2 class, open to the older S2000 cars, alongside entries from Campos Racing and Nika Racing.
”We are happy we managed to find a last-minute deal with Pasquale. He has some experience in WTCC and we expect some good results from him. We also thank Liqui Moly for their continuous support that enables us to stay in the WTCC since 2007,” said Team Manager Kurt Treml.
