Agustín Canapino takes first victory for Peugeot at La Pampa

Agustín Canapino claimed his first Super TC 2000 victory for the Peugeot LoJack Team at La Pampa today. The 24-year-old won the race a second ahead of Renault LoJack Team driver Leonel Pernia in second, with Matías Rossi in third position for Toyota Team Argentina .

Canapino had to defend the lead from Pernia in the race, but the Peugeot driver was able to stay ahead until the end on the very fast La Pampa circuit where the drivers averaged over 200 km/h.

Fiat driver Facundo Ardusso was involved in the top fight in the early part of the race, and even claimed the lead for a while, but had to retire with a broken power steering.

Equipo YPF Chevrolet driver Norberto Fontana crossed the finishing line in fourth position and keeps the championship lead, seven points ahead of race winner Canapino.

In fifth position and the second best Peugeot driver was Facundo Chapur, ahead of Toyota Team Argentina driver Esteban Guerrieri in sixth and Matias Munoz Marchesi in seventh for Equipo YPF Chevrolet.

Next up for Super TC 2000 is the Buenos Aires 200km on July 20th.
