Facundo Ardusso takes his first STC2000 win for Honda Racing

Honda Racing driver Facundo Ardusso has grabbed his first Super TC2000 victory the Japanese manufacturer in San Nicolás. He was joined on the podium by Matías Rossi of Toyota Gazoo Racing and Leonel Pernía of Renault Sport.

Ardusso claimed the lead at the start of the race, as Renault Sport driver Matías Milla held onto second. Bernardo Llaver of Chevrolet YPF beat Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Emiliano Spataro off the line to claim third.

Both Llaver and Rossi, starting sixth and seventh, caught Milla during the first part of the race and overtook him.

Chevrolet YPF’s Agustín Canapino started 14th and quickly moved up to eighth, overtaking the likes of lo Ciarrocchi (FDC Motor Sports) and Juan Ángel Rosso (Puma Energy Honda Racing).

Title contender Leonel Pernía (Renault Sport) held strong pace throughout the race, climbing from eighth on the grid and overtook both Llaver and Milla towards the end of the race, managing to grab the final podium spot of the race.

Ardusso crossed the line to win for Honda, 2.4 seconds ahead of Rossi and 5.4 seconds ahead of Pernía.

Llaver crossed the finshing line fourth and Julián Santero of Toyota Gazoo Racing ended up in fifth. Canapino was sixth and Milla dropped back to seventh during the last lap.

Rossi claimed the lead of the standings thanks to his second place finish on 65 points, one point ahead of Pernía and Ardusso.

The fifth round of the 2021 Super TC2000 season will be held on June 5-6 at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue.
