Lada to unveil new WTCC concept

Lada is going to unveil a new FIA World Touring Car Championship concept based on the Lada Vesta at the Moscow International Motor Show.
“The visitors of the Moscow Motor Show will have a chance to see the new Lada Vesta racecar that has been designed for competition in the FIA World Touring Car Championship,” said Bo Andersson, Lada President.

The Vesta model is a new saloon model which will replace the current Priora model, with production starting in September 2015.

Lada states that the size and dimensions of the Vesta model are ideal for a competitive WTCC car, with the current Granta known for having the least competitive aero package on the grid, as well as having a rather aggressive aero package in order to meet the TC1 requirements.

“Racing is the right approach for Lada. We have a lot of fans and people who support this programme, so the company’s involvement in motorsport is important and we need to win,” said Andersson.

The Moscow International Motor Show starts on August 27th.
