Colin Turkington heads long list of Snetterton penalties

West Surrey Racing’s Colin Turkington has been given an eight place grid penalty for the first race at Knockhill following his incident with Matt Neal in the third of today’s races at Snetterton.

Turkington, who has also been given three points on his racing licence, heads a long list of penalties from today’s action.

The stewards ruled that Turkington’s team-mate Rob Collard overtook Simon Belcher under yellow flags in the second race. As this is his third offence of the season, he will start from the back at Knockhill, and has also had three points deducted from his championship total.

Triple Eight’s Sam Tordoff was given a reprimand and two penalty points for an incident with Collard in race two, while Glynn Geddie and Marc Hynes were both given verbal warnings for overtaking under the safety car.

Finally in race two, AmD Tuning’s Dave Newsham was given a reprimand and two penalty points for an incident with Geddie.

There have also been a number of penalties handed out for exceeding the number of engines allowed per car during the season.

Welch Motorsport have been deducted 30 points for using three engines more than the allotted two. So far this season, Dan Welch has used four engines, and Ollie Jackson three.

Aiden Moffat Racing and BTC Racing have both been docked 10 points, for using one engine too many.
