Campos Racing explain their grounds for appeal

Campos Racing have appealed the decision which saw Serbian driver Dusan Borkovic excluded from the second race at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit in Argentina on Sunday. Borkovic had finished in eighth position after starting 14th on the grid in his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, but was excluded by the officials after his car failed the post-race ride height check.

Borkovic, who was the third fastest Chevrolet RML driver in the race, explains that it was the damaged front splitter, due to contact in the race, which as a result of contact was lower on one side. which was the stewards grounds for disqualifying the Serbian.

“At one moment I noticed that something was wrong because of the sound…in the car,” said Borkovic. “My Chevy was not going into the turns properly and I was losing speed, but I wanted so much to finish the race and win new points. I am so hurt by this situation which was out of me and my team’s control that are not down to me or my abilities,” he added.

The date for Campos Racing’s appeal is yet to be confirmed, but could be heard after the next three rounds of the Championship in China and Japan.
