Ma Qing Hua leads Citroën 1-2-3 in Shanghai FP2

Local hero Ma Qing Hua led Citroën team-mates José María López and Sébastien Loeb, making it a 1-2-3 for the French manufacturer in the last Free Practice session in Shanghai.

The Chinese driver set an uncatchable 1:51.032, almost half a second quicker than anyone. Behind the Citroëns, Proteam Honda’s Mehdi Bennani claimed a surprising fourth to split Yvan Muller from his team-mates.

During the session the track was yellow flagged when William Lok had an off in his TC2 SEAT León at the first corner. At the end of the session Mikhail Kozlovskiy left his Lada Granta along the circuit after having lost power at the exit of the hairpin.

Norbert Michelisz took sixth for Honda ahead of Campos Racing duo of Hugo Valente and Dusan Borkovic, the Serbian trying to make up for the track time lost along the weekend. The two Honda Civics of Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro completed the top ten.

James Thompson emerged as the fastest Lada driver with 13th place, just under two seconds off the pace.

Qualifying is scheduled for 13.30 CST.
