Just two Lada Vestas for the start of the season in Argentina

Lada Sport Rosneft will start the season with just two new cars for Rob Huff and James Thompson, while the team’s third driver, Mikhail Kozlovskiy, will wait until Marrakech to start his season when the team will have prepared the third all-new TC1-spec car.

Lada are the only team to change their model for this season, and with a shortened test programme which kicked off in Magny-Cours just two weeks ago, the Russian team have only been able to prepare two race-ready chassis, which will be driven by 2012 champion Rob Huff, and two-time BTCC champion James Thompson at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit in Argentina on March 8th.

A Lada spokesperson has confirmed Kozlovskiy’s car will be ready for the second round of the WTCC, which takes place in April at the Circuit Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco, where Kozlovskiy took his career best result last year.

The team’s first two cars have been sent by freight along with the other 16 competitors which will take part in the first race, which the photo from the championship’s logistics partner DHL below shows.
