Craft-Bamboo complete four day test in scorching Portugal

Craft-Bamboo Racing have completed a four day test with their Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 with driver Gregoire Demoustier in the southern Portuguese circuit of Portimao, in preparation of the next round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Marrakech in two weeks’ time.

The UK-Hong Kong-based team was the only independent team that chose to airfreight their car back from Argentina in order to carry out additional testing. Demoustier is participating in his first season of front-wheel drive racing, and Craft-Bamboo are returning to the championship after a year away from touring cars and running sports car programmes in 2014.

Craft-Bamboo tested alongside Lada Sport Rosneft, Citroën Total WTCC and Honda Racing Team JAS, the three factory entries in this year’s WTCC, during the test at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where the temperature came close to 50 degrees celsius during the week.

“It was really good to do this test we really needed it and we learned a lot about the car,” said Demoustier. “I improved my driving, especially my start which is going to help a lot for the rest of the season. We still have two days to do in spain next week and I hope we can make more improvements. We still have work to do but we made a big step from where we were in Argentina after having more time on the track.”

The team will also carry out a two-day test at the Circuito Guadix in Spain ahead of the next round in Morocco on April 19th.
