Jaap van Lagen joins Lada for Hungary test

Former WTCC driver Jaap van Lagen is going to test for Lada at the Hungaroring today, alongside Argentinian Néstor Girolami and current driver Rob Huff.

The test is part of Lada’s in-season development of the new-for-2015 Vesta WTCC.

Following James Thompson’s withdrawal from the race at the Hungaroring due to emergency medical treatment for a tooth abscess, and the possibility that the Brit could also be out for the upcoming race at the Nürburgring, van Lagen would be seen as a likely candidate to step in to drive as the Dutchman has plenty of experience of the circuit from racing in the VLN.

Van Lagen last drove for Lada in the 2009 WTCC season and has since driven various touring car, GT and one-make championships.
